Boat & bike in Bavaria
The UNESCO cities of Bamberg and Regensburg are the splendid first and final stops on this boat and bike tour in Bavaria. The cities of Nuremberg, Erlangen and Beilngries are further highlights along the route. However, this journey is also full of nature, leading you through the Rothsee and Altmühltal natural parks. The cycling along the rivers Regnitz and Altmühl, as well as the old Danube-Main canal is positively superb. This bike and boat tour in Bavaria is suitable for both veteran cyclists and beginners.

Day 1 Arrival in Bamberg
Embarkation around 2 pm, after which you should definitely explore the UNESCO world heritage site and taste some of the many beers this “beer city” has to offer.

Day 2 Bamberg - Erlangen, ca. 45-50 km / 28-31 mi
The tour leads along the river Regnitz until you reach the old university town of Erlangen. Countless beer gardens allure you to stop for refreshments.

Day 3 Erlangen - Nürnberg - Hilpoltstein, ca. 28-50 km / 17-31 mi
The ship will take you further to the free imperial city of Nuremberg, and we’ve allocated ample time for you to explore it. Later, you’ll unhurriedly cycle alongside the Danube-Main canal. Sporty bikers can start in Erlangen.

Day 4 Hilpoltstein - Beilingries, ca. 39-48 km / 24-30 mi
Freystadt awaits, with its splendid baroque church, while Beilngries is home to a picturesque historic centre.

Day 5 Beilingries - Riedenburg, ca. 30 km / 19 mi
The tour now leads through Altmühl natural park - offering excellent cycle paths surrounded by beautiful countryside. 

Day 6 Riedenburg - Regensburg, ca. 55 km / 34 mi 
The Altmühl will guide you further towards the Danube, until you reach Germany’s prettiest city, the UNESCO world heritage site of Regensburg.

Day 7 Departure
After breakfast, you’ll get a guided city tour, after which disembarkation commences around 12 pm.
